A Remodeling Consultant works with you on your proposed project. He will create a list of material & labor specifications regarding your project that the contractor can "bid." All contractors will be bidding "apples-to-apples" as they will be bidding from the specifications we provide to you. If you have any special concerns about the project, advise us so we may spend a little more time investigating that area. We will spend as much time as needed to evaluate the project. You will normally receive the written report within just a few days. Some projects require laboratory evaluations, on these - you will receive a written report after the analysis is returned to the Consultant. Please include a
"Wish List" for the project.
We will typically spend two to three hours in the home, plus additional time in the office to complete the Bid Package. YOUR copy of the bid package will include pricing at "national cost averages" and the contractor's bid package will not have any pricing - this allows you to receive the contractor's "best price." You will receive up to three copies of the contractor's bid package to allow you to get pricing from different contractors. If needed, we can also arrange for engineered drawings at additional cost, or you may work with your own engineer.
After you receive the bids back from the contractors, we can help you be sure you are getting what you ask for in your project. Already having "national cost averages" on pricing, you can better determine if the pricing is accurate or not. We also offer assistance on completing any building permit applications that may be required. Once the project is underway, we return to inspect the workmanship before issuance of any releases of payment for work completed. You can be assured of "getting what you pay for" instead of being taken advantage of.
